I'd imagine the further west it tracks the more the trough would have an impact on it.

This has probably been discussed already, sorry if so. I haven't really been following this thread too much since it became evident it wouldn't come to LA.

Yeah we do need a break too. Here ay my work in PCB we also got slammed January 9th with the tornado. We moved ALL our big boats at work west and the rest indoors, not taking any chances. Looks like the cone came back this way west bout 11 miles on the new update.

Obviously not trying to downplay whatever effects Helene may have on Atlanta. Just adding some levity to a very obvious and potential bad event!!

I think the watches so far inland are a testament to the idea this storm will be strengthening through landfall.

In addition the land gains elevation in the SE as you head north. I'd imagine this helps keep wind speeds up as the storm doesn't have to go as far mixing to get those elevated winds to the surface

That prior reading was a wobble east just like this one is a wobble west. Remember storms do not move in a straight line.
