I’m no pro but can tell you there’s still a lot of water that’s very hot in front of her and no shear. She’s the healthiest she’s been and is worst case scenario. Will be intensifying through landfall but will it get another 30 mph sustained to hit category 5 remains to be seen.

As I’m typing this watching Ryan Hall feed and they have flight level winds of 156 right now so will it have enough time to work down to surface is the answer

Holy Mother of Moses. Can’t recall seeing a half hour update by the NHC. How much stronger can it get? Not trying to diss anyone, but this is a far cry from the 115 projected this morning.

Always prepare for a category higher because the NHC will inevitably lower their originally correct forecast to one category too low. Back to back landfalling hurricanes they’ve done this.
