Gonna go ahead and sticky this. If something does come together, it shouldn't have much time over water to amount to anything strong, but we all know we don't need a major even to wreak havoc.
As luck would have it, I am going to orange beach next Monday. We have a chance to cancel IF there's a named storm in the Gulf. Euro looks like it wants one. Any other models? Anyone think we'll have Fiona? I'd rather cancel then have a week of rain. Thanks!

The GFS keeps anything right at the coast, and inland for the most part. Let's just look at this as an increase in rain chances right now unless the GFS gets a little more aggressive or the EURO continues to show something.

Local met keeps mentioning it - something in NE GOM next week. He stated that it will enhance rainfall throughout most of the NE and Central coasts of the GOM.

Weather service I use for work mentions that the high pressure over the gulf that is forcing Earl to go west will be moving out and will allow an increase in storms. If those storms stay over water long enough, low pressure could form giving us a homebrew gulf threat next week.
Another possible Humberto? Those kind of storms is pretty much worst case scenario for those of us that work in the gulf, since there's no time to evacuate ahead of them. I've rode out a few depressions and tropical storms, but never a hurricane so far. I've seen the destruction from even a cat 1 or cat 2. I wouldn't want to be stuck out there in one of them.
